Frequently Asked Questions 1. Where do I get the images for my locations? There are several options to obtain a digital image for your locations. Images can range from a simple BW sketch to a full color photograph. Important is that the image suits the purpose, and of course your personal taste. Here are a few suggestions:
Use a drawing program (e.g. Microsoft Paint) to shape the image into a suitable size. In most cases this will be somewhere between 200-700 pixels wide and 200-400 pixels high. Save the image as gif, png, jpg or bmp format. Start VisualBin and use the "Add new location" menu item to create a new location in the VisualBin database, using the thus created image. Remember that a simple sketch might do well in many situations! 2. I have been playing around with the user interface and now I seem to have lost a panel. How can I get it back? Much effort has been made to make VisualBin as user friendly as possible. As you may have found you can almost completely customize the user interface by manipulating the placing, size and appearance of the different panels. Probably you have been a bit over enthousiastic and have closed a panel or placed it in an impossible place. Use the "View" menu to open a "lost" panel and use the docking aids to drag it to the place you want. See also the relevant chapter on this subject in the help menu or in the user manual. 3. How can I update to the latest version of VisualBin? If you are a registered user you are entitled to free updates to the latest version of VisualBin. You need to download the latest version from the VisualBin website and run the installation. During the installation VisualBin should not run. No need to re-enter your license codes. Make a backup of your database before upgrading. 4. The license key I received does not work (or is lost), what should I do? If the license data you have received from Sailsoft does not work please retry to enter it again by opening the "Register!" menu and type the data exactly as you received it into the boxes. Mind upper and lower case characters, spaces etc. If still no success please contact us by using the contact form and provide us with you registration data as you received it from us or ShareIt.
